Three Keys, Three Doors

Unity 2D GameKit Level Design

Assignment Description: As a video game designer, your mission is to create a full emcompassing game level that leads the player on an adventure for Samus to find their hidden space ship. Using many of the interactives, envronmental sprites, and creative abilities, you are required to teach the player all game mechanics, while slowly increasing the level challenge along the way.

This level was made as part of an assignment using Unity. The level hda to include several objectives and elements such as teaching the player to move and jump, enemies, and interactable objects. I was inspired by a level in Splatoon 2, one of my favorite video games. The level in question, "The Experimentorium", features three launchpads leading to three seperate areas, with a key at the end of each. That's where I got the idea to make three mini levels with three keys needed to reach the end. I wanted each area to feel like a different place: one is a swamp, one is an underground cave, and one is a forest.
